Last year I was really pleased to be selected for a residency at Cill Rialaig arts centre in Co.Kerry, Ireland. Since receiving the notification email offering me a place I’ve been making notes on how I want to spend my time there because this is my first residency and I want to take full advantage- that and I’m a bit of a list-maniac!

Cill Rialaig is an old famine village in a Gaeltacht area. There is no wi-fi and very few amenities close by. As we live in a ‘connected’ world I’m really looking forward to being ‘off grid’ but I’m also finding the prospect a little daunting as it’s been years since I’ve operated without the use of the internet. Currently in my studio deciding on which materials will be best used while there…… will Aer Lingus let me fly with oil paint in my luggage- must google it!!
