I’m regularly asked if I do commissions and yes, I do!

The above painting ‘Steadied Thinking’ was my first 2019 commission for an American collector. It’s a great compliment to be commissioned for a private collection and I really enjoyed making this painting.

How do art commissions work?

The process varies from client to client as they can have as much or as little input as they like. Some buyers familiar with my work prefer the element of surprise and only give me the dimension of the painting they want while other commissions are based around a previous painting of mine. Please let me know if you have specific requests in terms of colour or composition. We can discuss your painting via zoom or if you are in the London area we can organise a date for a studio visit.

How much is an art commission?

The price of a commission depends on what size and paint surface you would like. I require a 40% deposit on confirmation of the commission. Before I begin the painting we can discuss the palette, painting process, feel and overall composition I will use. Once you are happy I can begin the painting.

How long does a painting commission take?

I normally allow 4-6 weeks to finish a painting (size depending) and if requested can send photographic updates of the paintings progress. Shipping is not included in the painting time as this will depend on where you are based. I have completed commissions in the UK, US and Ireland and really enjoy the process from initial conversation to receiving images of the work in its new home!

If you would like to know more about ordering a commission or have questions about pricing, dimensions and materials please get in touch- Many thanks, Aisling
