White, blank canvases used to terrify me. Honestly, they still do—but in a different way. It’s my version of writer’s block, really. When I was younger, I struggled to fill that intimidating white space. Now, I meet it head-on by sketching anything, just to dominate it. It’s become a kind of liberation.
April 2025: From Blank Canvas to Original Art
Every piece of original art I create begins with that stark white void. What once paralysed me now fuels the start of something new. It’s not just about putting paint to canvas—it’s about starting a visual conversation, an intuitive dialogue that continues until the work finds its form. Each painting is a one-of-a-kind piece, shaped by layers of exploration.
A Glimpse into My Studio Practice
Working on several canvases at once helps me maintain momentum. It’s not just about producing original paintings—it’s about staying present in the process, allowing each piece to evolve in its own time. This way of working keeps the energy fluid and authentic.

My abstract landscapes are influenced by the rugged beauty of Ireland’s stone wall landscapes—especially those from the Burren in Co. Clare, where I grew up. I draw from their textural contrasts: solid yet fragile, defined yet organic.
My latest work on florals represents a thematic shift in my painting practice, a want to explore new techniques and perspectives. Through my studio practice, I interpret these ideas using gestural marks, layered brushstrokes, and a play between control and spontaneity.
Hand-Painted & Original Art
For me, creating isn’t just visual—it’s tactile, raw, and reflective. The physical act of painting, of building up and breaking down surface texture, is where the real magic happens. Each artwork holds evidence of its making- I don’t rely on photo shop, AI or pre produced images. I maintain an organic painting practice.
From My Studio to Your Wall
When you bring original art into your home, you’re welcoming more than colour and form—you’re inviting in an energy that’s been shaped by time, dedication and human physicality. Whether you’re drawn to the texture, the movement, or the story behind the work, each piece I create is meant to resonate.
