A Moment of Excitement

In April 2018, I was thrilled to receive the exciting news that my painting Trading Time for Eternity, created in 2017, had been shortlisted for the prestigious Jacksons Open Painting Prize! To be selected from over 3,500 submissions is incredible. Moments like these reaffirm my decision to pursue art and remind me of the long road I’ve traveled since graduating.

The Jacksons Open Painting Prize: A Celebration of Contemporary Art

The Jacksons Open Painting Prize is a highly respected competition in London that brings together the best in contemporary painting. Each year, artists from all over the world submit their works with the hope of being chosen for the final prize. Only 38 paintings were selected from over 3,500 entries, and to be counted among those 38 was amazing. The sheer talent of the artists involved and the diversity of the works submitted made being shortlisted even more meaningful.

Trading Time for Eternity: A Reflection of My Journey

Trading Time for Eternity is a painting that represents my ongoing exploration of time, memory, and the interplay between the past and present. The piece is personal and draws from my experiences and reflections on the passage of time. It’s a complex, layered work that took months of experimentation and reflection to bring to life. To have this particular painting recognized in such a prestigious competition felt like a huge achievement for me.

The Road to the Jacksons Open Painting Prize: The Power of Persistence

The road to being shortlisted was not an easy one. Like many artists, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges and doubts along the way. But each setback has been a learning experience, and it’s moments like these that show me the power of persistence.

Looking Ahead

Being shortlisted for the Jacksons Open Painting Prize was a major step forward in my artistic journey. It not only brought new visibility to my work but also inspired me to continue pushing my boundaries as an artist. Here’s to more exciting moments & more chances to share my art with the world.
